Program

The workshop Accelerated Crop Breeding for Climate Resilience in Rice: Challenges and Opportunities was held in Bogor, Indonesia, from 13 to 17 April 2026. It was organized by the University of Saskatchewan (USask), Canada, in collaboration with IPB University, Indonesia. The event brought together stakeholders from ASEAN breeding organizations, experts from USask, and policy specialists to discuss the adoption and development of accelerated breeding in the region.


The workshop was designed as both a technical and policy forum. The program included keynote presentations, technical sessions on breeding methods, country case studies from ASEAN member states, a field visit, a presentation of survey results, a presentation of the policy landscape for accelerated breeding in the region, breakout discussions, and a closing session focused on partnerships and collaboration.
